Pennsville Soccer Association - Parent Code of Conduct

We believe in fostering a positive and enriching environment for young athletes to develop their skills, sportsmanship, and character. This code of conduct outlines our expectations for parents and guardians to ensure a supportive and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

Sportsmanship:

  • Focus on fun and learning: Remember, this is about your child's enjoyment and development, not winning at all costs. Celebrate effort, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.
  • Respect others: Treat all players, coaches, referees, and spectators with dignity and respect, regardless of their skill level or affiliation.
  • Positive cheers: Be enthusiastic and supportive of all players, not just your own child. Avoid negative comments or put-downs towards anyone.
  • Control your emotions: Refrain from yelling, arguing, or criticizing coaches or referees. If you have concerns, address them calmly and privately with the appropriate individuals.
  • Respect the rules: Understand and abide by the game rules and club policies.

Player Support:

  • Encourage your child: Be your child's biggest fan! Offer positive reinforcement and encouragement, even when they make mistakes.
  • Focus on effort, not outcome: Celebrate your child's hard work, dedication, and improvement, not just the score or winning.
  • Let the coaches coach: Trust the coaches' expertise and refrain from giving unsolicited coaching advice to your child or other players during practice or games.
  • Positive communication: Communicate any concerns or questions about your child's experience directly with the coach or club administrator, following proper channels.
  • Responsible behavior: Ensure your child arrives on time for practices and games with the necessary equipment. Encourage good sportsmanship on and off the field.

Club Commitment:

  • Volunteerism: Consider volunteering your time and talents to support the club and its activities.
  • Positive representation: Be a positive role model for other parents and players by upholding the club's values and code of conduct.
  • Support the club's mission: Contribute to the overall success and positive atmosphere of the club by attending events and supporting fundraising efforts.
  • Open communication: Maintain open and respectful communication with club officials regarding any concerns you may have.

Remember, the most important thing is for your child to have a fun and rewarding soccer experience.

By adhering to this code of conduct, we can work together to create a positive and rewarding soccer experience for all players.

Remember, we are all part of the PSA family, and our actions reflect on our club and the sport of soccer as a whole.
